Project Manager

Holland Applied Technologies is an industry leader in sanitary process equipment. We design and build everything from components to modular process systems for the food, beverage, and biopharmaceutical industries. We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our Systems group.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate project between customer, engineering, fabrication, shipping, document control, quality control, purchasing, and accounting
    • Develop, review, maintain and adjust project schedule as necessary
      • Perform engineering calculations to specify and size equipment
        • Obtain quotations and procure components as needed for a project
          • Control costs and track all commercial issues
            • Guide designer throughout design process
              • Provide technical assistance to fabrication personnel
                • Read, interpret, and summarize customer specifications
                  • Submit formal documents as required by customer specifications
                    • Lead internal team meetings or customer meetings
                      • Work either independently or as a leader in a fast pace environment while managing multiple projects and tasks in unison

                        Qualifications required:

                        • BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
                          • Experience in process engineering
                            • Experience in pharmaceutical, food, or beverage industry
                              • Some knowledge of electrical and control schematics
                                • Some experience with AutoCad a plus

                                          Single Use Program Manager

                                          Holland Applied Technologies is an industry leader in the sanitary process industry. We fabricate and distribute sanitary process equipment for the food, pharmaceutical, personal care, and beverage industries. We are currently seeking a Program Manager to lead and develop and direct our Single-Use Program, Production, and product offerings. This position is based in Burr Ridge, IL. This is a senior-level position reporting to the President. We are a growing company and expect the role to grow and develop with the program.

                                          Description of Role:

                                          The Single-Use Program Manager is responsible for establishing manufacturing operations and facilities. The organization will consist of up to five team members and a product portfolio of Single-Use BioPharmaceutical Assemblies, Components and Medical Devices. The Production Manager will build and sustain a strong manufacturing team through a balanced approach towards employee safety, product quality, and customer delivery performance. The successful candidate will be a hands-on team player with high energy and work as a collaborative team member and leader to achieve operational, safety, and quality goals. This person must be highly self-motivated, have a customer focus and be able to satisfy both internal and external customer requirements.

                                          Responsibilities:

                                          • Develop and implement a build-out plan for the Single-Use Cleanroom facility and supporting activities.
                                            • Establish and manage a Manufacturing organization
                                              • Accomplishes manufacturing goals by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising job results, coaching/counseling team members, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
                                                • Production Planning
                                                  • Production Assembly and packaging operations
                                                    • Batch Release
                                                      • Supervising staff, scheduling, training and development
                                                        • Ordering and receipt of components
                                                          • Facilitating Quality Approvals
                                                            • Logistics interface
                                                              • Quality system compliance and ensuring the manufacturing process and it support functions maintain a state of compliance (ISO and GMP).
                                                                • Facility operation and ensuring facility (ISO Cleanroom) and equipment are suitable for production, maintenance and cleaning.
                                                                  • Manufacturing procedures and method development and ensuring they are current and appropriate for the operations. (Work Instructions and SOPs)
                                                                    • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel to accomplish production goals; establishes priorities, monitors progress, revises schedules, resolves production problems and reports any changes in quality or throughput.
                                                                      • Best Practices by working with functional leaders (purchasing, logistics, quality, engineering) to deploy best practices within the operation and to obtain required support and foster an atmosphere of teamwork.
                                                                        • Vendor management by working with vendors to ensure supply chain is robust and capable of meeting production and objectives, and quality standards.
                                                                          • Customer Support by being the primary customer interface on customer audits.
                                                                            • Sales Support to assist in the development of appropriate marketing material for Single Use offerings, to encourage Single Use sales at existing customers and develop new sales opportunities Nationwide.
                                                                              • Engineering Support by reviewing designs and engineering efforts to ensure manufacturing capabilities to produce the products.
                                                                                • Work Environment by establishing and maintaining a safe, clean and well-organized work environment and ensuring compliance with all quality, safety and environmental regulations.
                                                                                  • Viable Manufacturing Team by attracting, developing and retaining competent staff through networking, training, coaching, developing, and assigning work objectives.
                                                                                    • Successful Manufacturing Goals by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising job results, coaching/counseling team members, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
                                                                                      • Leadership by acting as site leader and drive to develop and implement a Single Use Program Strategy to help the achievement of site vision and goals/objectives.
                                                                                        • Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, facilitating corrections to malfunctions and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
                                                                                          • Management involvement by keeping management informed on any production issues that may impact production schedules.
                                                                                            • Attend Industry Events as needed

                                                                                                      Requirements:

                                                                                                      • BS/BA degree in scientific, technical, or management – Engineering preferred.
                                                                                                        • 5+ years of leadership/supervisory experience with a proven track record of successful performance.
                                                                                                          • Regulated industry-experience in regulated industry (medical device, pharma, biotech, aviation)
                                                                                                            • Cleanroom experience.
                                                                                                              • Strong knowledge of QMS, ISO and cGMP.
                                                                                                                • Strong understanding of biotech and pharmaceutical customer expectations of Life Science suppliers is preferred.
                                                                                                                  • Biopharmaceutical Process Experience preferred.
                                                                                                                    • Regulatory Audit Experience (FDA, ISO) is preferred.
                                                                                                                      • Experience with frequent visibility and interaction with senior-level managers and customers.
                                                                                                                        • Proven strong leadership skills w/ ability to motivate, inspire, and build a high performing team.
                                                                                                                          • Ability to manage a complex and fast-paced environment. Able to address the workload effectively to drive departmental focus.
                                                                                                                            • Mature confidence and experience to drive effective, pragmatic and risk-based decisions.
                                                                                                                              • Proven problem-solving ability and troubleshooting skills. Experience with structured problem-solving techniques and a good decision-maker in addressing technical and logistics challenges.
